With over 15 years of coaching experience Coach Phil brings passion, leadership, and a deep love of the game to every team he works with. He began coaching at the Little League level and has spent the past 10 years in travel baseball, along with three years coaching at the high school level.
A former varsity captain at Commack High School, Phil went on to play Division I baseball at Manhattan College before transferring to SUNY Oneonta, where he was a three-year starter and conference champion. He continued to play Amateur baseball right out of college and is currently playing for the Hamptons Adult Baseball League as a Catcher and Utility player. In addition to baseball, he also coaches varsity football at Southampton High School. Coach Phil has been with 5 Star now for 3 years and enjoys working with Coach Brown on a regular basis.
Coach Phil believes in playing hard, playing smart, and playing with integrity — and in helping every athlete understand that how you act and play on the field reflects who you are off the field.
